The Loveland Castle (Ohio, USA)

Hi all!
Wanted to share some photos from our recent trip to the nearby Loveland Castle.
We spent a recent Saturday there, enjoying Castle Days, a small festival.
I’d only been to the castle one other time since moving to Ohio, and that was at night, for Halloween.
So, seeing it during the day was great! It is really beautiful, and the garden even more so.
We saw a couple of good shows, including a brother team made up of a world-record-breaking juggler and a fire-eater, The Pickled Brothers.

Trixie in her new digs

She is settling in very nicely.


Trixie found this turtle all on her own, and led me to it.
What happened next was so funny….the turtle retracted its head quickly and she jumped backwards, not sure what to make of it.

Whew! We are finally moved in :)

~

I wouldn’t say settled in by any stretch, but moved in, and that is good enough for now.
You just never realize how much stuff has accumulated until you move house.
And Eric has been asking me daily (because I tend to be the one with wanderlust) “What are we never going to do again?”
And my (appropriate) response is “Move!”

So, now that that is decided upon, back to the adventure!
We last left our canine heroine bedraggled, de-collared and running furiously away from a ferocious bear, known only to her as ‘that thing’.

Unbeknownst to her, that thing just may want to be her new best friend.

We are set to move in 4 weeks & our house is looking like this:

Trixie is getting a new home!

~

No, we aren’t giving her up.
“Not on your life,” says Eric of his beloved pup.

We are hoping to move house next month.
Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well!

Trixie tags along

We took our little red dog, Holly, to the vet today.
She needed to have some bloodwork done.
Trix refused to be left behind, and we couldn’t trick her, so she went along.
Their vet dubbed her with the title of “Support Dog” a while back.
She keeps Holly company, earning a biscuit or two along the way.
All in all, not a bad day’s work.

Will Trixie make friends with the cat?

We’ll find out tomorrow.
In the meantime, here is a photo of Trixie meeting Minerva, one of her feline housemates, for the first time.


 


A couple more from her first day with us.
When we got her from our neighbor who had rescued her, she didn’t have anything….no bed, no leash, no toys, not even a collar. So first thing we did was to take her shopping at PetSmart to get the necessities.
