Sincere apologies to emjayzed, who was kind enough to give me a blogger award nomination, and then I mess up her blog URL.

So, I think the next step is for me to tell you guys 7 (hopefully) interesting things about myself.
1. My favorite sport is ice hockey, and I even used to play right wing for a couple of leagues.
2. I grew up in Louisville, KY and have lived in Cincinnati, OH for the past 8 years.
3. I am named after my Grandma.
4. I am the aunt to a total of 5 nephews and 2 nieces, all of whom are the greatest kids in the whole world!
5. My husband is the one who chose Trixie’s name. My vote was for Suzie Q. I am happy that we went with Trixie. By the way, Trixie was his first puppy and he is totally the best “dog dad” ever.
6. I love old houses. The one we currently live in is 90 years old, and my little house in Louisville was built in 1900!
7. I eat Chinese food on Tuesdays (I split it with Trix and Holly, I get the broccoli and rice, they get the chicken), and veggie pizza on Fridays, and other than that I prepare and cook my own food or do so together with Eric (with occasional exceptions, of course).
More than you wanted to know :)
Finally, I get to nominate 7 other bloggers. This will be a challenge, as there are many many good ones that I follow. A couple of them were nominated by emjayzed already, so I will choose some different ones.
FBSIGN – His little Jack & Jackie are the cutest things ever
Living a Beautiful Life – Catherine is living the life of my dreams
The Owl & Pussycat – one of the best comic strips I’ve read
A Girl and Her Brush – so immensely inspirational
Artist at Exit 0 Riverblog – an artist with a very unique style and perspective, and from my own hometown even, as it turns out
lestwentytwo – really cute sketches/comics
Peaches – A sad comedy – Peaches tells it like it is
Are you SURE I can’t keep nominating blogs????
In case I haven’t said yet, I will be posting new comics on Tuesdays and Fridays, was finding the 3x per week a bit taxing at the moment. Actually, it was cutting into Trixie’s walk time, and we can’t have that :)
So, new Trixie coming tomorrow!
Tom & Trixie make it back down the mountain, to meet Jen at the campsite.
We’ll see how this goes, cannot promise much yet (find it a challenge to keep up with my personal FB page….).
Click on the link at right to “like”.
Thanks!
New comic coming tomorrow.
Really great post for those who know that dogs bring something sweet to our lives.
I’m always touched by the outpouring of affection that articles about
dogs elicit. A good example is this Etsy blog post from yesterday,
where I’m one of many commenters who can barely contain themselves
when talking about their love of dogs. My two Labrador retrievers,
both of whom passed away within the last year (they were 14 and 15),
were (as my brother put it) my artistic “muses” for many years.
That inspiration came from the joy they brought me every day, even
though their crazy eating habits (toilet paper, kleenex, socks,
dish towels, shoes, walls, leashes, my running pants, my Dalai Lama book
of wisdom, earplugs, camera case, etc., etc., the list goes on
forever), turned my house–and sometimes my life–upside down.
But frankly, my life needed to be turned over a bit to soften my heart and
make me appreciate those things that, at first, make you tear your

Ever since she was a puppy, Trix has been a helpful dog. She has done this thing for a while now where she takes the clean dry clothes out of the dryer (sometimes, sometimes not). It started when we washed some of her stuffed animals (they do become rather crusty, ya know). She was very concerned with what had happened to them, and I think she was so relieved to see they were ok, that she started picking them out of the dryer.
We have since been encouraging her to “help” with the laundry by having her pick socks and other small items out and giving them to us.
To her, it is a game which results in much praise. To us, it’s just really cute!
Last July, Trix got to spend some time at the dog beach at Lighthouse Point, near Daytona. The red dog in front is Holly, one of her housemates.
This was Trixie’s first time at the ocean, and even though she likes water, she wasn’t sure what to make of the ocean waves. She had not yet experienced water that chased her when she stepped in. It was very entertaining to watch her running back to shore after each wave rolled in.
